No initial problems and I did buy another since the 1st is now a 2.75".
Polishing on side plate isn't perfectly even. Not a 1960's Bright Blue.

Thanks snw19_357. Doubt any bluing process today will satisfy those of us who were fortunate to have had hands on the deep, lustrous blued Smiths and Colts of the 1960s. But uneven bluing on a side plate today tells me that S&W QC standards and practices are still inconsistent. But this is not just a S&W issue. I've sent newly purchased firearms back for repairs to Colt, CZ, Walther, Dan Wesson and, of course, S&W. I would expect S&W Performance Center products to be flawless out of the box - but am sure there are ample experiences from Forum members that say otherwise.

I bought one a couple of months ago. It's perfect.. or I thought it was until I shot some full-power Underwood .357's in it and experienced extremely sticky case extraction. To the point where I had to beat the extractor rod with a piece of wood to get them out. All other rounds were fine, however.

But I did get a bore scope and now see some pretty decent tooling marks in the cylinder. So I'll be polishing that out and expect it to be "perfect" after that process.
