I have been trying to find a quad rail handguard for the mass compliant mid-length barrel version(model 811310). the support email people say any ar-15 one should fit, but that isn't true so far. and the accessory book listed UTG PRO MTU007R is not available yet according to Leapers. So does anyone know of one that definitely fits and where it is available from?

So far I like how it shoots, even though i only got to put 20 rounds through it while standing knee deep in snow with iron sights just to make sure i got all the shipping oil and gunk out of it. Anyone know how many rounds they put through them before shipping, and what that oil is? It sure did take a while to clean it all out.

well, another failure... Ergo Grip F93 adjustable stock doesn't fit. the buffer tube is about 3/4" too short.

It's kosmoline (cosmaline ?).Not oil. It's a heavy duty storage lube made for long time storage like the military uses for all weather all climate. A weapon can sit in this for decades,a century and still be just as good as new when opened and cleaned. Took me almost for ever to get it off and ald M-14.

Don't know for sure about the test firing. It could be 1-10. Enough to make sure the weapon fires and works properly before it is packed, stored/shipped.

Should definatly clean the gun after buying it!!! States right in the manual to clean it good before firing!! Ajd this goes for all guns nots just the s&w, clean them real good put a nice light oil on them then go shoot!!!

I remember cosmoline from the navy, but there it was more waxy and even harder to remove than this stuff was. this was more oily but very sticky, kind of like chain saw bar oil. it took me about 2 hours to get rid of it before it was clean enough for me to try to fire it the first time.

I just ordered the magpul moe handguard listed in the accessory book, would have preferred a quad rail to match my m&p-15 but want to get something so i can put on a front grip/bipod. also ordered the ctr stock replacement, guess now i have to figure out how to unpin the mass compliant stock to get that off. is that just a pin or some kind of screw they put in it??

Troy free floats for .308 DPMS Low Profile fit fine if you get em short enough, or if you swap the gas block.

well, its not a quad rail, but the MOE handguard came in today. i put on a couple of rails and after much huffing and puffing a bit of bending of the heat shield and a small bit of persuasion it went on. it is definitely a TIGHT fit, but it snapped into place nicely once the heat shield was adjusted. the problem with the heat shield is that there is a little tab on the back end that flares out. on a smaller barrel it would be ok but because this barrel flares out at the end it pushes that little tab out and it snags on the upper section. if you try to put it together without bending it you can see where it hits the inside of the upper... just bend it in so it is straight instead of bend out and it wraps around the barrel just fine. now i just have to drill out that pin and upgrade the stock so it is adjustable.

I've got the MOE one coming now, it won't look like my m&p-15 but will do the job.

I just installed this one too. So far I like it, but I will still looks for a quad rail.
