I'm interested in putting an 18 1/2" barrel on a Remington 870 Express. I've come across a Carlson replacement barrel with choke tubes. I'm not familiar with the Carlson products. Are they good quality and is there any problems I should be aware of? Thanks

While I have never purchased one of their barrels,
I have purchased a couple of dozen chokes from them.

Quality and service is great and if they had a barrel I wanted I would buy it.

Looong barrel

Was Carlson the one that about 20-25 years ago came out with a 3' or longer barrel extension that screwed into the replaceable choke tube area? Was supposed to lower the report/noise of the shotgun with light loads.

Think they brought it out to hunt crows in populated areas without disturbing the neighbors.

Excellent quality bbls and choke tube products.
All US made.

Here's link to their 870 Remington replacement bbl list from their website w/ current $$ and info.
They offer both smooth and rifles bbls in a variety of lengths.

FWIW,,They used to make replacement choke tubes for most of the older chokes like the H/S PowerPac, Weaver adj choke, ect.
Don't know if they still do.
