I was originally going to purchase a 15 T that I found new, for 1179 after tax and shipping from budsgunshop but then I found the MOE version for 865 after tax an shipping, trying to save money where I can I want to get the moe however the MBUS worry me especially because they are named "back up" I have not read anything about their performance with the MOE 15...they would be my primary means for aiming... Will it be good enough? I know there is not a way to adjust elevation...any advice from y'all would me much appreciated

I have a set of Magpul MBUS sights & I don't have any problems with them. The front post is adjustable for elevation. It is the same set up as the A2 post . I used my Troy battle sight adjuster on the MBUS front sight & it worked great.

Ditto here. No problems with the sights. Shot well with them at 50 and 100 yards (no rest). Great sights and fairly sturdy.

The MBUS sight is more than adequate. They're called "backup" sights because the rifle is a flattop, and the assumption is that your primary sighting will be done with some form of optics (red dot, magnified scope, etc), which is also the primary reason the rear sight is a flip-up sight. I have the S&W MOE, and replaced the front sight post with a Yankee-Hill flip-up front sight/gas block so that there is no interference between my red dot and the iron sights

I've got an Eotech 512 on my MOE. If the battery goes out, the flip up can be used looking right through the Eotech. No Problem.:)

We have 2 pairs of Magpul MBUS and like them a lot for the price. Magpul does not recommend putting the front one directly on a gas block rail, due to heat/plastic issues. But I did anyways, and it's working great. But you're really concerned only with the rear sight being Magpul, right? I like their rear sight, but all that matters here is will you like them. I know people who wouldn't touch a "plastic sight" if it was given to them. Me, I blame Magpul, it's all their fault. Before them, I "understood that metal was good and plastic was bad", then those darn pMags! As hard as I tried not to like them, I just keep buying them. Now I am recommending plastic sights. It's really unbelievable what Magpul has done to me.:)

We got the first set thinking, good enough for now, we'll buy something more expensive later when we have more money and know more. Well the money came and I bought an EOTech. I just don't have the urge to replace the Magpul MBUS any more. Well except the poor front sight on our 2nd set that is cooking on the gas block, I feel bad for it:(. It deserves a better life and will be replaced this weekend, but then I guess the front MBUS will need a new rifle:).
