Hello all! Very new here and very new to my new toy. In fact it is the first weapon I have ever bought to start my learning with weapons!
I have the SW MP 15-22 MOE.. I am doing some homework on red dots and also the magnifiers.... I'm thinking the "Primary Arms Micro Dot With Fixed Base and AR Height Riser Mount MD-07-UTG" AND also getting the Primary Arms 3X Magnifier with the ADM Mount Bundle.... Wondering if this will fit over my rear stock Magpul MBUS. I would like to still be able to receive absolute co witness with the magnifier flipped to the side....
Here are the links to the two:

I have watched tones of youtube videos with a very close setup but can't find a recent one!

When I go to primary arms I get confused as there are so many different options and different micro red dots....

Any help would be appreciated as to which ones to get and still be able to have absolute co witness when magnifier is flip!!!!

Thank You!

To start Primary Arms is a fantastic vendor, do not hesitate to do business with them. That being said, I personally don't like that sight. I got one about a year ago and noticed a little ghosting of the dot, I called PA abot it and they said that was normal for that sight. I sent it back and swapped for a Vortex Sparc.

I now have 2 of the Bushnell TRS-25 micro dots and they are great. crisp 3 MOA dot and If you order from PA they throw in a free UTG quick release risor that is very nice also.

I never read about ghosting..... I will have to google it thanks! I'm just lost as far as what to do! I like primary arms prices and looks and everything I have read. I just don't want to order the wrong stuff and have to return it!

The ghosting is slight, but I am anal about that stuff.

Here is the sight I mentioned, looks are very similar to the Microdot.

Thank You ... As said previously. I am new to this stuff and the terminology. Could you PLEASE explain what "ghosting" is and can the average guy tolerate it! I do not understand; However I do not want to run into problems 1 year from now that I am unhappy with! Thanks!

I would not go hole-hog on anything till you find out what works for you. Some like the red dot +magnifier and some don't. I prefer just a reflex red dot for speed shooting and a tactical scope for everthing else.

Ghosting is where there appears to be another much less bright "ghost" dot.

It does not bother most people, since you really don't notice it when you have both eyes open, as you can and should with close range red dot use. But on the long shots where I close my non-dominant eye it becomes an issue. Which I think you would, while using a magnifier, since it is more like a scope then.

Never noticed any ghosting on my Primary Arms red dots. Now I'll need to pay attention on my next range visit. Only time I've had the dots look any different than they should is when my vision focuses on the dot, not the target. Stay focused on the target as with any red dot and you'll be in great shape.

I have 3 PA Red Dots (30mm and multi-rectal) and a Primary Arms 1-4 Scope. Outstanding company to work with and products have been excellent.

Thank you everyone on the replies!.... I will try to find more info on ghosting! I was really set on the setup I posted links on (Based on looks and performance/price) still trying to learn.... I want to make one purchase and not regret it!

I decided not to go with the TRS-25. It appears that earlier models were fine, but models with the last few months have poor quality control. Major ghosting and the dot looks more like a blob. If you buy one now, make sure it is a place that accepts returns just in case.
