question about the gun ordering process?

Dear Smith and Wesson Forum in the near future i will be going down to my favorite gun shop to order a Smith and Wesson model 60 .357 magnum revolver with a 3 inch barrel. An i have a question. how does the whole gun ordering process work? any and all help in answering this question would be greatly appreciated sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the Smith and Wesson Forum.

I don't know why you'd go to a gunshow to try to do a special order. Just go online to Davidson's gallery of guns, select the gun you want, get a quote, and opt to select an offer from a dealer near you. Pay the deposit and then pick it up in a few days.

Gunshows are more about selling inventory on hand and many of the dealers will be from outside of your area, thus you'd have to potentially drive a long distance to pick up your special order.

Davidson's Gun Genie makes the process a lot easier.

Edit to add, and since you're in IL, you'll also need a FOID card.

Or order it online from Bud's and have it shipped to a local FFL. I use a local pawnshop that only charges a $20 transfer fee. I've been happy with Bud's, and I'd say they have everybody beat on price about 80% of the time.

Your local gun shop shop should order what you want from one of their distributors with no special cost to you. Unless you are asking for a custom feature, you should have it in a week or less.
