Question for Shield pro's

Have a question regarding one of my Shield 45's. I've noticed on an empty chamber "hammer down" I can still engage the safety, while on my Shield 9's and Shield plus's, the safety's will not engage unless the weapon is cocked.

Normal for Shield 45's?? My other two shield 45's do the same.

I can engage my safety without the gun being "cocked" (so to speak). My sons does also. I'm going to guess that this is normal.

Many thanks, I just got home and checked my 3rd Shield 45 and that one does the same so I'm presuming it's something the shield 45's all do. I just find it funny that none of my Shield 9's or the Pro's do this, I checked with a friend who has a shield 40 and his doesn't do this.

You said "Hammer" but I assume you meant the striker cocked

Yeah, but after pulling a 36 I like to relax a bit before hittin the sac, consequently I'm not 100%
