I'm just wondering, we're going to stay at some of the state parks is Indiana, is CCW allowed? I thought I saw on different sites and in the statutes it says yes, but reading through some of the state park rules it mentions all firearms must be unloaded and locked while in the park. I don't want a family vacation ruined over a misinterpretation. Just want some guidance before we leave, thanks!

i dont think there is anything in the statutes, but local laws may vary.

There was a state law passed last year allowing concealed carry in Indiana state parks. That probably doesn't apply to the Hoosier Nat'l Forest, as that is a national park. I'm sure it depends on whether your home state of issue has CCW reciprocity with Indiana. You might verify with the Indiana State Police.

You are OK in Indiana state parks, and Indiana does recognize Michigan Resident permit.

Thanks for the responses! I figured I would be OK, just reading rules like
"Any firearm, BB gun, air gun, CO2 gun, bow and arrow, or spear gun in possession in a state park must be unloaded or un-nocked and stored in a case or locked within a vehicle except when participating in an activity authorized by written permit." made me a bit nervous.

I have never seen or heard of anything prohibiting multi-gun carry in IN.
Well, except for some hunting laws that disallow carrying a handgun while muzzleloader deer hunting, for example.

And to be redundant, I was at an IN state park less than two weeks ago (Clifty Falls) and the handout/map said something to the effect that handgun carry was OK for permit holders. I don't recall the exact words now, but they got it in there by saying something like the possession of firearms was prohibited except by those with a valid carry permit (emphasis mine).

I don't think it's a problem, and this Hooiser will sometimes carry his Kel-Tec AND his Mod 60 at the same time!

Indiana can be such a rough place.

Multiple gun carry is not a problem. I usually carry three--

.

The only no-no I know of is loaded long guns.

Thank you gentlemen! I took a trip to the motherland today (I'm half Hoosier, my mother was from the Warsaw area), and it felt good to be home. Of course, it was even wilder than Detroit.

Because of the awful global warming

, I was wearing a jacket with my usual four guns that I pack in the winter.

That little lake is Center Lake. I drive by it on the way to the Kosko Conservation Club to shoot skeet. It's a nice area, with Winona Lake on the southeast side of town. Winona Lake used to be home to the PPA School there. I have many great memories of the school, area, and people, and still enjoy it today. Grace College now occupies the buildings used by the old PPA School, I believe.

Four guns, eh...

(Probably not too likely to be needed here in Indiana.)

Not too sure about that--I did not leave the house today except for a quick trip to our church to let the copier tech in. Still had three guns on my person. Rather have them and not need them, than the reverse.

Yeah, I agree (BTW, I enjoy your posts on E.M.'s forum, GLV). It was nice to see that the local economy in the Warsaw area was doing much better that the Holland, Michigan area that I live in.
