Question for those that have Tyler, BK or Robertson T-Grips on their revolvers

I own both and while I do like metal more I have to say BK. Absolutely outstanding prompt service at a fair price. I had a question regarding an adaptor for a Ruger police service 6. My questions were answered almost immediately via email. I was so pleased I ordered an additional set for a smith 638. I will gladly order more in the future!

For a nickel gun you’ll just have to wait to get a polished aluminum for Tyler or find one used. I don’t like the current finish on black Tyler’s it is like a baked on something and no Tyler markings. For a blue gun the BK is definitely the way to go this is a BK on 36.

Matching the gun is the last thing I worry about with a tyler. I have a flat black one on my 681, the silver ones on my alloy frame J frames and 64 do not match the finish and all are wrapped with Vet tape anyway.

My last order from Tyler took 18 months for them to fill and ship. Got them late in 2022. They said their main guy had covid and was very sick. So maybe things are better now.

They did not answer the phone when I called, did not respond to voicemail or emails I left/sent them. Just one day the package showed up. If that's unacceptable to you, find another source.

I would order again, but I sure wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them.

I'm very satisfied with my BK grips on my J and K frames. K frame BK grip also works on my N frame. The black looks great with a blued gun. I think the ivory color works fine with stainless but YMMV. I'd personally recommend you get a BK just to try it out and see if you like grip adapters in the first place. Order a Tyler if you decide it's to your liking.

Seems the best way to make anything “revered” is to make it hard to get. The Tyler adapter is nothing special. They used to lay in the bargain grip baskets in gunshops for next to nothing. They’re metal, but it’s just aluminum. Now they started providing terrible service with long, if ever, delivery times, and now we brag if we have a genuine Tyler. I have never been one that tries to cash in on unobtainable madness so I gave my last two away. I have a couple BK’s and the only difference I notice in feel between the polymer and aluminum is that the double clip on the BK doesn’t wiggle like the Tyler did. I bet if the Tyler was as inexpensive and easy to get as the BK, the BK would be most shooters first choice. I know it would be mine.

Rant over!

I have both bronze and aluminum Tylers and one BK on a Jframe. The fit on the BK is a bit better, there seems to be a lot of variance in the Tylers. all my Tylers were purchased on the secondary market.

I have examples of all three.

Tylers are great except the LOOOONG wait.

BKs are ok for blued revolvers.

Robertson’s TP fit fine and look good on SS revolvers.

Overall I’d say Tylers are my favorite.

From the other side of the problem with Tyler's.

I bought an old LGS's inventory of T-Grips. The S&W adapters sold out in the first three gun shows I did! In a thread about 6 weeks ago a member here ask about my stock for Colt's. I took the time to tell to look and my supply and gave him prices by the each and for the whole lot. His Response: *crickets*
