New to the post~ Hello out there.
I have an opportunity to aquire at least one of each of the following: Model 24-3 NIB sn ABZ56XX and Model 25-5
sn N697XXX. Not sure what I am going to offer, but does anyone know approx dates of manufacture and values?
Considering these are NIB, is there a collectors value in
saving these models? Also may have a shot at a model 34
and 17. Thanks in advance for the information.

ABZ should be 1983/84.
N697 should be 1980.
I guess just about any older S&W NIB could be considered collectable and would hold a higher value if they stay that way. Some here shoot all their guns and some save and collect. It's up to you.

Add, I forgot values. The SCSW says a M24-3 LNIB is $600.
The M25-5 LNIB is $725. The book is a few years old so those prices maybe a little low.

Thanks for the dates. I'll probably offer on the model 25, seems like the 24 isn't quite as popular...maybe due to 44spl cal, not sure.

What is the barrel length on the 24-3? If it's a 3" or 4" NIB at $600 I'd be all over it. Both are very popular with limited production. They were also made in 6 1/2" barrel but those seem to be not worth quite as much as the 3" & 4". I had one of each that I mistakenly sold for more than $600 after being shot and without the box and papers.
