Question on Ohio Open Carry?

Been wading through a lot of sights. Ohio is open carry state.
I have been trying to find out if this only applies to Ohio
residents? Anyone know answer or were to find it?

Applies to everyone. There is no code to cite as there is no restriction. Do be aware that if you are in a vehicle Ohio considers it being concealed and a license would be required. (you probably knew that)
 
I'm sick of imbeciles on TV and radio talking about the "Ohio open carry law" which simply doesn't exist. There's no more need for an "open carry law" than there is for a "saying the word crocodile law". If it's not forbidden, it's allowed.

I certainly have no argument with this, and I'm sure that the principle applies in forty-some states besides Ohio, but not in all. In MA, open carry of handguns is not forbidden (open carry of longarms mostly is). However, in most jurisdictions (of a police chief), if you carry openly, you stand a good chance of having your permit to carry pulled or neutered. At some expense, one might have a good chance of successfully appealing having it pulled, but little to none of changing whatever limitations the chief puts on carry conditions. The way permit law is written in MA, you pretty much do things the way your police chief wants, and there is very little to add to that.
 
I live in the Cleveland Suburbs. Cuyahoga Co. I see open carry very little. 2 times this Summer. I know of a lot of people that carry concealed. At one time Parma Police were instructed not to hassle open carriers. I also herd on a Police Scanner, someone reported a Motorcycle Rider on I77 carrying a gun in a holster. A Officer responded that it was not against the law to open carry. If in a car you have to have a CCWL or unload and separate.

That isn't quite correct. Carry in a motor vehicle is defined as 'concealed' and requires a license, whether or not it is in plain sight. This includes motorcycles.
