I picked up my new to me 17-6 last night,
and the label on the box had these acronyms.
STK FEATURES
CS SB ST CT FL

I think the CS is combat stocks,
and the FL is full lug, but I'm
not sure what the SB, ST & CT are?

Help please!
CS=Combat Stocks
SB=Square Butt
ST=Semi-Target Hammer?
CT=Combat Trigger?
FL=Full Lug

CT usually means Crimson Trace laser grips. SW has the 642CT. Not sure about the others.

CS= Carbon Steel, Stainless Cylinder, or Combat Stocks
SB= Square Butt or Black Front Sight
ST= Semi target trigger
CT= Combat Trigger or Titanium Cylinder
FL= Full Lug barrel

All depends on the model and when it was made. Acronyms had different meanings for different models at different times.

Thanks....the trigger is smoooth!

Could you get a Semi Target Combat Trigger?

Not that I am aware of. that's what threw me- both the Semi target and the smooth trigger. Smith makes (made) a target trigger (grooved and .400" wide). The combat trigger on current production guns is a smooth trigger .312" wide. If it is grooved it is the service trigger which is .265"-but I think all guns today come with the smooth combat trigger.
Now Hammers are different. The Target hammer has a .500" spur. The Semi Target hammer is .375" wide while the standard hammer spur does not extend past the body of the hammer.
Then you get into bodyguard style hammers, humpback hammers, centennial hammers and the fish hook ( I call it a recurve) hammer.

I think we'll stop here :D
Next lesson will be E F H & G frames. :eek:

Photo of 17-6 Box Label

Below is a photo of the 17-6 box label with the features listed.
Hammer measures about .375 wide, so it most likely is a semi-target hammer, Trigger is smooth and a little over .250" wide
