I took my 6906 to the range Sunday and Monday; first time I've had it out. The gun has factory Novak night sights both front and rear.

First, I really love the gun. However, I have a question.

Shooting at about seven yards I seemed to be shooting low. I kept adjusting the sight picture until the front "insert/dot" was aligned with the rear two inserts. At that point I could see the top of the slide in the sight picture, something I'm not used to.

When looking at the front sight there is some clearance between the sight blade and the slide where it dovetails.

If I remember the rule of thumb, move the rear sight in the same direction you want the POI to go and the front sight in the opposite direction, then the front sight needs to be lower, either in height or closer to the slide.

What does the front sight look like on your 6906?

The front sight does sit on a pad that might make it seem like it's not all the way down. Front sight height usually run .213-.229" overall, but they do make them down into the .192" range. I try to keep my notch/blade alignment instead of dot alignment which I find isn't alway's true.

Before you start changing sights. They are factory adjusted for 124 gr bullets. Don't white knuckle grip it. Grip it like you don't want it to get away, but don't want to hurt it.

Ten,

My 6904 also shoots low.

I've just learned how to adjust when shooting.

God Bless!!!
