Bought some Bull-x 45 cal 230 gr RN There is no lube in the groove anyone know why Thanks Old Seabee

Couple possibilities.
Might be alox, might be hy tek coated, might be entirely absent.
We like pictures in cases like this.

That brings up a point....

Is the lube groove going to stay on classic bullets that are lubed with the new stuff. I'd think so. With the coatings it's no use changing the band structure.

The clue is that Bull-X went out of business several years ago. ( Fine bullets, use to be my go to bullet company.) I suspect that in the intervening years the lube fell out.

For the followup question , if you have a lubrisizer, run them thru to relube.

45

No sign of lube coming off , I have a lube mach have four boxes all the same . Thanks boys

Perhaps that company was using a lube similar to the "match lube" that Precision Delta currently offers. The first box of their bullets with that option that I bought looked totally bare so I called to make sure something was forgotten. They said not and the bullets shoot cleanly with less smoke.
