Likely not, the Lew Horton 2.5 barreled handguns are 1984 production of 1000 units. S&W caught on fairly quickly of the popularity of the 686 snub and started standard production soon after. Your 686-3 started in 1988 and confirmed with your serial prefix. But you can call Lew Horton to confirm; it's free. Good luck

Per the letter I got from Lew Horton, on the 686-0, they ordered (6000) from S&W, between 1983 & 1985.

Hey thanks, the total number issued is what I couldn't really remember; memory is not that great anymore, ha! Thanks again for clearing that up. BTW I've got serial AFA6338 so both of ours were factory mates and maybe even rack mates.
