Potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers all cut in 1/8, sliced onion, and 6 to 8 garlic cloves. After all cut and sliced throw the whole thing in a large bowl, add your salt and black pepper to taste.Get your favorite meet, I used cubed chuck roast. Get another bowl put 6 cups of water and one small can of tomato paste a touch of olive oil, and bring it to a simmer, wait 15 to 20 minutes till it cools off, and then pour it over the meat and vegetables and mix it all together. Pour the whole thing in a pyrex and cover it with foil, and bake at 375 degrees for about 2 to 3 hours, add warm water as needed. I made some rice and a mixed salad.
I hope you enjoy your meal!!

My mom made something similar that she called "Swiss Steak". (Some Worcestershire sauce, too==and a bay leaf!).

Almost how I make my beef stew (more liquid). Make up some dumplings........

THANK YOU! I'm always on the look out for a new recipe. I've been eating for 72 years and after all that time you are gonna get tired of almost everything you eat (except for bacon and PB&J sammiches)

That looks absolutely yummie. A lot of times when I am gonna try a new recipe I will make a few changes to accommodate my taste but that'n looks just about right just the way you laid it out.

I'll give it a whirl and get back to ya!

Quick and simple? Cut tomatoes, potatos, peppers, onion, garlic, meat, then mix water and oil and tomato paste and cook for however long and wait 20 minutes to cool and cook for 3 hours!! That's basically four hours for a thick stew. Quick is 15 minutes or less and simple is 5 ingredients or less.

Try browning burger, then throw into a pot. Add taters (yeah, yeah, you got to cut 'em up), corn, green beans and onions. Set on low heat until taters are soft. 15 minute prep, 5 ingredients (add your own salt and pepper, they don't count). Yup, its got a longer cook time than 15 minutes, but a good tasting stew without working yourself into a sweat. :)

1 14 oz. can Red Gold Diced Tomatoes With Green Chilis

1 7 oz. can tomato sauce

1/2 c. dry white wine

1/2 medium green bell pepper, diced

1/2 medium white onion, diced

1 clove garlic, minced

generous splash of Worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perrins)

2 or 3 oz. thick-sliced country bacon (Finchville Farms, if available), optional but nice

salt to taste

red chili flakes, dried oregano, basil or thyme, if desired

2 filets of cod or other firm white fish, about 6 oz. each (you can start with them frozen)

Simmer all ingredients except fish for twenty minutes or until pepper and onion are done. Add fish and cook till it flakes. Add a little water if necessary.

Serve over rice.

Delicious, simple and healthy.
