I’d much rather eat at Waffle House than Golden Corral. There’s a new Waffle House in the toney part of town. I’m waiting until it gets a patina before I try it.

Oh yeah. Pork chop and eggs #1. When the stupid government was throwing around thousands of dollars in unnecessary Covid relief we dropped a few four figure tips on Waffle House servers. We didn't deserve it.

During decades of dining with last call crowds at WH I have never witnessed a fight in one.

I seemed to attract happy drunks.

I haven't been in a WH for a long time. The wife doesn't like them. Something new though. There's an upscale WH in my part of town. It's in a residential area and not close to the Interstate. Looks nice and has steady patronage all day long.

In my area, the Waffle Houses are clean, efficient and the staffs learn their customers and attentive to their needs. The size of the crews on weekend mornings are upwards of a dozen, sometimes 15 working. Chairs provided if you have to wait a bit and coffee is poured.

Old trucker CB slang is Awful Waffle , I've have eaten good and bad depends on the cooks on shifts and locations .

All us cops called them the "Awful House" but we went there anyway.

I was once at a Waffle House in affordable North St. Louis County near the airport at 4 am before catching a flight. The waitress took my order, turned to the grill, announced it, and then went to the grill and cooked it . . .

Of course. At that location, a fight is the least of her worries. I’m sure she was accustomed to dodging gunfire . . .

I'm not sure I've ever been in a Waffle House that it wasn't between 1:00 and 4:30 in the morning ............... But it's been quite a while back......... like "last century" while back.

I loved their cheese omelettes. I could never figure out why theirs were so light and fluffy, which made them a real treat. I finally read they blended the eggs in the malt machine.

I started blending my eggs in the blender and low and behold I had an omelette even better than Waffle House!

Got married at the Hope Church just down the street 41 years ago. The area was "Affordable" then. It's much more so now.
