My wife Kate is a quilter. She has become involved with a group called quilts of Valor. They make quilts that are donated to our nations war wounded. It is a wonderful organization and is, of course, a noble, honorable and worthy cause.

More information can be found at:

http://www.qovf.org

My wife may be reached at 865-428-5305. If you would like to help our war wounded or if you know a quilter who could help one of our nations war wounded, please call.

What an incredible talent to put to such a noble cause!

Thank you for passing on the information.

Kate has worked with local quilters and has collected over 75 quilts to be donated to wounded soldiers.

She is beginning a quilt guild in Maryville to promote more quilting for service families.

I can't tell you how proud I am of her! Kate is in the red jacket! Darlene Bakos and Bridget Matlock made the quilt top. Kate quilted it. She took over my woodworking shop and turned it into her quilt studio. My woodworking shop is now 2 saw horses and a handsaw!
