R.I.P. Jean Simmons

She was gorgeous in any of her films, but to me her beauty shone in, "Spartacus" as that character's love interest, played by Kirk Douglas.
Kirk's still alive. Wonder what he thought when he heard?
Not long ago I read Douglas' autobiography, "The Ragman's Son."
Douglas knew true poverty, and through hard work and perseverance rose to become one of Hollywood's greatest stars.
He had nothing but kind words about Jean Simmons. She was, to the end, a real lady whose acting talent was rare.
And ... um ... one fine-looking babe, too ... heh.

I was in love with her from the time I saw her in Great Expectations, from 1946. She nearly stole the show in Spartacus. What a lovely and talented lady. I always thought she was more beautiful than Elizabeth Taylor.

Rest in peace, Miss Simmons
