My wife and I met the Gunny at a NRA convention.He was a really personable man.He almost seemed embarrassed when we thanked him for what he did.He visited my wife's sons unit in Kuwait and spent a afternoon lettothem know they were not forgotten.

There was a dreadful 1980s (I think) sci-fi B-movie last weekend with him as a stick in the mud naval officer. Gotta pay the bills, I guess.

I got to shake his hand and he wished me luck at the NRA convention when it was in Houston. It was a bit crowded. I doubt any of us will forget "Full Metal Jacket".
