I have a M19-2 that was outfitted for PPC with a Bomar sight and rib attached to a Knight target (round) barrel. The K frame top was machined with a radius to match the barrel. Now, I'd like to replace the sight rib with a Picatinny rail for an optic.

Any ideas of sources for a radiused Pic rail that might match? It seems that many for various shotgun and rifle receivers, but details on radius aren't obvious. I'll deal with trimming to length and mounting holes, but would like to start with a radius to fit as best possible.

You want the picatinny rail to fit the barrel. Measure the diameter of the barrel and divide by two, that is the radius of the barrel! Simple arithmetic! The radius of the bottom of the Bomar isn't important.

Yeah, I figured that out. It happens to be ~0.465". Most rail sources don't identify the radius, if curved, unfortunately They typically just say it fits a certain receiver.

I'm hoping someone has experience matching an available Pic rail to this profile. May just have to lap one to fit decently.

Check out Aristocrat Sights/products. I believe the rib is for a 1" barrel. If you call them I am sure they can answer your questions. This replaced a Davis/Aristocrat rib, works great. I believe it is a weaver not a 1913, not sure if I remember right.
