Rain, Rain, and more Rain

Looks like we're heading for another dry season up here. A little rain and couple thunder showers early on, but rapidly drying up.

All time record for the month of May has been set in Chattanooga Tenn and I have not saw the record results for Huntsville, Ala, but expect the final total also set an all time record for May. Not very many days at my place that it did not rain sometime in the 24 period for that day. I fear the month of August and September, as most years, the annual amount is around the same and we are way ahead of the game at this point on the calendar for 2025.

We had one of the wettest Mays on record here in NEPA. We went from having a rainfall deficit to being well above average. It is a good thing in a way. The threat of drought has been eliminated, and the rash of brush fires we had in April are a memory.

The downside is flooding. Honesdale PA, the county seat of Wayne County, and what I consider to be my hometown, got hit very hard earlier this month. So did other areas. It was raining very hard early this morning, and the NWS issued a flash flood warning. My pager has been quiet, thank God. I have it set on Wayne County dispatch, and no calls, so far.

I'm supposed to drive in a parade in Pittston, Luzerne County, this afternoon. Hopefully it stops raining by then.

Not complaining. Better than a drought with lots of brush fires, and I don't have to shovel and plow rain.

Enjoy your weekend folks.

A lot of my friends were posting about, and had videos, of the flooding at 4th and Main area, in front of CVS, the old/former Moore Business Forms building, and the former Ford dealer

Can't say I ever remember that area flooding in my years living in Honesdale

It also did a number on the Catholic Church (St John, on Terrace St) "landscaping", from the videos I saw
