Mayhem in the Arkansas River valley

Got a friend up in LR to get my mom out shopping today. She will never be flooded, but the road to her place may be tomorrow.

Hoping the power / water grid is not damaged, although there are some very low-lying pump stations that could take a hit

As noted in the original post above, the predicted record crest was to be 285.5 ft on June 2nd. Today, June 1st, it's at 286 ft.

Well, fourteen days later the river is down 10 feet but still out of it's banks. The cleanup has started and I really feel for the folks who's homes and businesses took on water.

I had to make a run to the crime lab in Little Rock today and thought I'd enjoy the drive in with the cool, low humidity weather with my windows down. On parts of US HWY 65 and again on I-40 near the flood water I had to role up my windows and turn on the A/C because the smell was so bad.
