Grocery store shooting in Fordyce, Arkansas

While I support capital punishment, what biku324 says is pretty accurate. I will add those that just plain old don't care about the future and only the here and now.

I doubt that the dip wad that pulled this off would have given on iota about the death penalty, in fact he may well have been planned this as his demise.

You can wring your hands about this countries demise but the facts are that murder and violent crime is the lowest it has been since the 1970s. But you now hear about every single one of them. If fact we are constantly bombarded by gloom and doom. I will even go so far as to say some of the nit wits are the direct result of that. Hey, the world is going to ****, I may as well just take my hatred and total dissatisfaction out on it and die in a blaze of glory, that everyone will hear about.

What strikes me is remembering in the 60s listening to my Grandfather tell me how the country was headed to hell in a hand basket. The crime, no one wanted to work, people had no morals, the government was out of control, paper money was becoming worthless, etc etc. I loved and respected that man with my whole heart. Yet, I have had 60 great years since listen to his gloom and doom speeches.

A good percentage of our prison population is "people" who were basically feral from the get go and figured on spending a lot of their life in a cage anyway, so when they are free they take what they want, do what they want and the hell with everyone else. Many of them wouldn't be one bit different if the punishment was death over life in the cage. Ya they fight the death penalty, but then they have been fighting social rules all their lives, what do you expect?

The above post is correct. One of my 1st due areas as a PM was the state prison...the murderers continue to murder in prison. It is wrong to put murderers in the general population. They still kill the maybe not so guilty with no remorse and no concern for more penalty

ABSOLUTELY! But, unfortunately, there are too many who want to blame everyone and everything EXCEPT the person who committed the unspeakably evil act.
The even more unfortunate thing is that so many of those same people are the DAs and Prosecutors we are trusting to protect us from these monsters.
I think people are just looking for answers ... that's all. They tend to "not blame the attacker" as they, being nuts, is a given.

Ya, common sense gun control.

Even though the guy had a shotgun "common sense" gun control would be to ban assault rifles and high capacity magazines. Even if the guy had absolutely no history of violence "common sense" say more back ground checks and closing the "gun show loop hole". "Common sense" says it could have been prevented with a "red flag" law.

When your leaders are selected by a nation with an average IQ less than 100 and actual literacy rate of only 79% and 54% of the adult population has a literacy rate below the 6th grade level, your not going to get much actual common sense. You get skits resembling a reality TV program vying for the highest Nelson ratings.

And yet none of those "common sense laws" seem to be stopping these events. Weird huh?

The very existence of UN-reality TV proves your point. Everything is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator.
"I'd buy that for a quarter!"

Prayers for the victims , I use to drive a lot in that part of Arkansas but would only remember Fordyce if ever drove through there again

Yep....next somebody will be calling for "common sense"

Ever consider, that is why they get stuck in general population. Nothing keeps everyone's focus like snakes in the grass and some rabid dogs in the neighbor hood. Useful for minor population and occasional problem control.
