It seems that Andy asked Barney and Goober to safety check firearms. The gun show was so over crowded that the Fire Marshal was there counting heads of people leaving to know how many to let in. The line was out of sight. It is not gun owners either. We already own guns. It is the non-gun owners who are scambling to embrace our second amendment rights. That may be a good thing for us.

Sounds like Otis the Drunk might have been helping.

The shows around here mandate that the show rep or LEO must unload your pistol for you. Many obviously don't know everything about every make/model of firearm that people carry today. I've watched some pull the slide back and fumble around trying to lock the slide back on a Kel-Tec , with a full mag , on a pistol that doesn't even have a slide lock.

This is why when I go to a gun show and they ask , I simply say NO , I'm not carrying. There's no reason I'm gonna take it out anyway.

Exactly what I do. It ain't for sale anyway.

Why take a loaded gun to the show anyway, they require them to secured with zip ties (which is ridiculous anyway). I can't believe this.

"Unloaded" Pistol Goes Off At Gun Show

How smart is this: At a Gun Show in Raleigh, NC, today, a gentleman brought his weapon inside to trade. As policy, it had to be zip tied before entering.
The Law enforcement/security guard put a zip tie on it, and you guessed it, it went off! The show went on after awhile, but no guns were able to enter for trades after that. Wow, two men forgot the cardinal rule.:eek::eek:

Sorry, Will Carry. Just saw your post, didn't mean to steal your thunder. That stupidity maybe needs two posts anyway.:D:eek:

*****Refer to post by Will Carry******** I didn't see his post.

The first story: Man shots himself in the hand.
The second story: LEO shots two people accidentally.
The third story: A shot gun just "went off" and hit bystanders with bird shot.

You wonder why their are conspiracy theories? The news reports stories before they learn "who, what , when , where, how". That used to be a term used in what we call "Journalism", which has faded away. Now it's called "first to report the story wins, regardless of the facts."

Speaking as someone who had a shop and did shows;

If yer carrying concealed , keep it concealed.

If yer gonna be trying holsters , grips , or other accessories , or possibly trying to sell or trade it , unload it OUTSIDE in the parking lot before entering. It's better if it's already unloaded when ya hand it to the 'expert' at the door to zip-ty it. A crowded exhibit hall is no place to be playing with loaded guns.

And the arguement about "what if someone starts shooting up the show?" is totally asinine when hundreds of people are holding guns.

Thank goodness that single round lo-cap magazine clip rule was in effect. Otherwise there could have been carnage at the jerky stand.
