Ramps

Won't cutting that lip off significantly WEAKEN that panel?
Thick about how a piece of angle iron is so much stronger than a flat bar...

This is true. I have thought about that. I kinda thought that side section was to keep people from rolling off them.

BTW- how high is your shed? Ain't no mountains in Flawdah, are there? Can't you lower it? :D

My shed floor sits 14" about ground level. Current ramps are 42" long. Worked perfect for my little John Deere STX 30 with the motor in the front. I'd always back it in and drive it out.

With the ZT mower driving up the ramps with the motor in the back makes me a bit paranoid thinking it might flip over on me.

Why not build a permanent pressure treated ramp? It'd be cheaper. And you wouldn't have to lug it around

That was my first thought. I have a friend that built a wood ramp into his shed. He said he gets good traction on it when it's dry. Zero when it's wet.

He tried the grip tape, but said it doesn't last.

Not even close.

Whoopsies...was looking at the pro model.

Yours is really light for a ZT.

It's what I have, stained, looks purty

1, 2 x 10 for the cut on diagonal for the risers and , 2x8's cut in half for the cross pieces.

Maybe just make a longer ramp to change angle. Could probably build it right on top of old one

Years ago a feller was trying ride a 4 wheeler up ramps into a pickup bed. It flipped over backwards on him and killed him......I use to do that with 4 wheelers and riding lawnmowers.....Then I got smart(ER) and bought a trailer with fold down ramp........Much safer and much easier.
