My local reloading store is getting in some Zip. I currently have in stock CFE, HS-6, Autocomp and 1/2# of Titegroup. I was thinking of picking up a pound of Zip since it's a bit faster than CFE, HS6 and Autocomp. I have heard its similar to W231, which is non existent around here, and just wanting to diversify a little.

Anyone have any input on Zip? I'm loading .45 and 9mm.
Thanks!

I used up a 4 pound jug of ZIP about 2 years ago. It is very similar to W231/HP-38 and I was very satisfied. It was mostly used for light to standard loads in .38 SPL, .44 SPL, .380 ACP, and .45 ACP. It's definitely not a magnum powder. Many people like it in 9 mm, but I like slower burning powders like Power Pistol and 3N37 for 9 mm.

I found it was very clean burning but a little snappy in 40 S&W think you would like 231/hp38 better JMO

I've never used it but I wouldn't hesitate a bit in buying it. All the Accurate/Ramshot powders I've ever used have been top notch.
