My 15-22 has went threw over 1500 rounds with out a flaw untell yesterday.. between two mags i had 20 light strikes!! Then they fired on second try... next mag i had 10 i reloaded them an 5 fired the other 5 fired on the 3rd try!!
I compaired the light strikes to fired cases and the fired cases had a nice dent in the rim where there ftfs had a light mark,, i tore it down cleaned the bolt face and scrubbed around the firing pin.. reloaded and 1st round ftf'ed next 24 went off just fine.. went threw another 150 rounds with 2 ftfs

Could there be crud in the tube the pin rides in causing it to bind/ no travel as far as should???

It's possible. Squirt a couple of shots of GunScrubber into the FP channel and then blow it out with compressed air. You can then either (1) leave the channel dry, (2) give it a shot of DRY graphite or (3) a single drop of CLP.

Personally I prefer either (1) or (2).

Normaly cleaning i spray the rails the bolt slides on with birchwood caset dry moly lube along with the back of the bolt where the hammer touches when it resets.the trigger, any lube the feed ramp,
Its been a super reliable rifle untell yesterday n i didnt change ammo brand or cleaning procedure, reason i thought maybe pin channel related was my ftfs had alot of black residue around where the primer got struck,..

That's why i made the suggestion I did.

Ill tear it down again tonight and try and flush out that area tonight, gotta pick uo more ammo Friday, iv slayed 8 raccoons in the last week ( they like my garbage)

Another possibility -- a bit of crud in the chamber, or a bit of excessive lube on a bullet, causing the cartridge to not quite chamber fully. This has the effect of softening the blow as part of the energy of the firing pin blow is spent on nudging the cartridge ever-so-slightly forward the final tiny fraction of an inch.

And there's that possibility, too.

Also a possibility that the ammo had a few iffy primers try another box of ammo i've found my favorite brand slips up from time to time

Ill look at all firing area related areas tonight and see if.anything looks out of place or over caked. I normally brush the bolt face, feed ramp, and breech area when i clean it, maybe i forgot to last time?

Took the bolt off the rail tonight .. pushed on the firing pin and it felt gritty amd sticky, .. dropped a few drops of outters cleaner/lube/protector in the hole and worked the pin 15-29 times and now its smooth n sticky free.
Didnt get a chance to fire it since it's almost 11pm ( even thoigh my closest neighbors are 3/4 mile away) so ill run some rounds threw it after work tomorrow

Update....

Sent 125 rounds turew it tonight with no ftfs rattled off rounds like a sewing machine!!
