Beautiful early spring day in SW Virginia. High of 70! Decided to go to the National Forest Range that is about 40 miles away. Haven't been to the range much in the last year due to eye surgeries so today was a treat.
Took the 15-22, Commercial 1917, and a Marlin .22. Haven't shot the 1917 for several years. At 20 yards, single action, not bench supported (see picture) she is right one. . Met a nice guy at the range shooting a 1931 Remington Rolling Block 22. We struck up a conversation about .22 ammo. When he left he gave me 25 rounds of Wolf Target Match 22lR, 40 grain lead round nose. He knew 15-22s and said to try it in the 15-22 and that it would be very accurate. I have never shot Wolf 22 LR but he was right. Very/very accurate at 50 yards more so than the Mini-Mags I was shooting.
Nice day!
