I must have gotten a perfect M&P 15/22, ran thru 1500 rounds without a single issue, only 2 FTF (bullet duds). Other than that, putting all in 3" at 25yards, and 5" at 50yards. I can't wait to try the CCI Tactical ammo (out till Jan. 2012), but ran thru 800 CCI's, 500 Winchesters and 200 random stuff including Remington. So did my Xmas shooting... Happy Holiday to all you M&P owners...

Wow, 1500 in one sitting? I want to do that :(
That's some good reliability there! How caked was the bolt face?

Funny you should ask that, you know the bolt is kinda silver, well the face was BLACK, powder caked on the face, side. But she keep working. I also ran my bolt a little wet (oil'ed up more than medium like I do normal). I was doing a test this time to see if the M&P liked being oiled up verus dry lubed. Now granted I shot 1300, my friend who wanted to just try my M&P wouldn't stop after the first mag, he ended up shooting the first 200 rounds. I wish I took a picture of his face, he had a smile from ear to ear. He is going to get an M&P first quarter of 2012 now. Clean up was pretty easy, just soaked the bolt in Gun Scrub for a few, scrubed her down with the nylon brush, wiped her down, oiled her up and put her back. This rifle rocks.

PS, my fingers are a little sore, I think I will stick to 1000 per range day. Also got to buy more ammo now.. I'd order the CCI tactical on line but the cost of shippment is about the cost of the ammo. Can't find it local most carry only the CCI Bulk. Keepem in the 10 ring.

Glad you are loving the rifle. We always have tons of fun with ours. I've had issues running mine too wet, but only after say 300 rounds where the oil and powder start to make paste. You may also want to consider Winchester M-22 ammunition. It usually runs around $50 for a box of 1000. I think I have only had 3 or 4 duds in 4000 rounds. The powder leaves a very fine residue, not anywhere near as sandy or gritty as most of the bulk ammo. It will make your bolt black but it cleans up very easy too. I have found the power to be consistent, as compared to much of the bulk where you can just feel the difference between shots.

Bobkarno, I had some Winchester and tested it this day, ran about 500 rds, but mixed with the CCI, I couldn't tell if it's cleaner. What I did find out is the Winchester is not as accurate as the CCI. I notice the jacket plated bullets of the Winchester were loose in the brass, some tight, some you can spin the bullet. This gave vary pressures I guess, I had more flyers than ever, now it did shoot. The CCI lead bullets were tight, all of them, I notice better groupings with very few flyers. I'm keeping an eye on this. I want to try the CCI Tactical 22LR, when I can get some. Thanks for your feedback.. I'll do a Winchester test next time and only shoot that to see if it's cleaner. Happy Holidays..

Wow nice I thought putting 300 through in an Hr was Alot...
I guess if I get out early enough we could het off over 1,000.

glad your Rifles working our for you..

Glad to hear you got a good one. Duds always seem to happen, kinda given for .22 I guess. Think the most I did was 4 full boxes for federal 550 when I was testing my levers. That was a long range trip.

Haha nice! Right now all I have is 800 rounds so I don't want to blow through all of that in one sitting hehe. The most I've shot in one range session is 500, I think? I've been shooting the M&P in ranges with time limits, unfortunately, so I wouldn't be able to shoot a ton at a time as of lately. I'd like to see if I can shoot mine for that many rounds, I'm thinking yes! :) Hahah, that's great that your friend is buying one next year. Too bad your pretty darn far, I'd go shoot with ya for 300-500 rounds.

Ask me if I'm gonna do a 1500 round day again, NEVER, why, big bad he man's thumb is real sore, remember I live in Commifornia, I have 4 10/25 mags (NO FOLLOWER ASSIST ON THESE BABIES), and 2 10 round mags, so yea, my thumb is sore AS I TYPE and hit the space bar. I'm use to shooting, just not with 22LRs... oouch..

Toss those rounds in like Brett248vista does it. My thumbs are never sore after the range from loading but again, have yet to shoot more than 500 something rounds in one sitting. My shoulder's are weak so those are usually tired first :)

Update, went to pick up my son at SFO Airport (Xmas visit from Fort Hood). Kinda early so hit up my GPS for Gun shops. Found one called "Tabor's" on El Camino Real. Guess what, they had 5 boxes of CCI Tactical left, I purchased 3 boxes... OK, back to the range. They look great, tight bullets don't spin like the Winchester, I can't wait.
My son wants to shoot the M&P, he is a Communications Spec./ Radar tech. from the 69th ADA group out of Fort Hood Texas.

Maybe a little Xmas day shooting is needed, I'll update the results on the CCI Tactical... Happy Holidays.
