I shot the CSP marked M&P .40 for the 1st time today.

I used 165 and 180gr ammo. Fired 25 rounds of each in 5 round strings. 25ft indoors. No FTF/FTE, no problems whatsoever.

I did have the large grips on it, but I switched them to mediums. It seemed to make a difference on the 165gr target, since the 8 9 and X ring hits were after I switched.

It seems to like the 180gr a little better.

I only have 2 other striker fired pistols, a Glock (Model) 45 and a Walther P99. I like the triggers on those better than the M&P. The reset on the M&P takes some getting used to.

Overall, it's a good pistol. Truth be told, the only reason I bought it was because of the markings, plus free shipping and no sales tax.

I do like my 4006TSW CHP better.

But it's a keeper.

Nice shooting & thanks for the range report.

I recently picked up a LE trade in M&P 40 also, don’t know what agency had it though.

When it quits raining here I’m going to try it out with some 135 grain hand-loads to see how it does.

Quikdraw67,

Thanks for the range update info.

Your three reasons for purchase were the same as mine. I did not need another .40 caliber pistol. I already owned Smiths, Sigs, Berettas, and Rugers in .40.

Price for a NIB S&W, markings, no shipping, no sales tax. I purchased one for myself and my son. Win, win.
