Range report - need suggestions

Well I finally got to shoot my 15-22. I had a great experience at the indoor range. The rifle is accurate right out of the box. Unfortunately I couldn't really see what I was aiming at. The indoor range was dimly lit. I also needed to adjust my front sight and couldn't do it at the bench.

Has anyone put glow paint or testers on their front post to help with that?

How do you raiser the post, is there a tool? They a YHM flip ups.

Loading 10/25' is a pain in the arse. I thought I saw a speed loader somewhere. Any advice?.

I used CCI blazers and as long as I focused on one spot my groupings were consistent and tight. Very happy with the results.

Finally I think I need to do the trigger job to it and start polishing. Might look at either a reflex or red dot for next time.

Many folks have painted the post yellow or orange or fluorescent green.

There is a tool to raise the post - about $6 from Midway, Cabelas or just about any place selling AR15 accessories.

There is no speed loader. There are replacement buttons that have a hole in them and a tool to hold it down, but they are a waste of money. I bought them and used the little tool through the hole twice. I can hold down the button and load a 25-round mag in about 45 seconds. A 10-rounder takes about 15 seconds. And you can't install them on a 10/25 anyway; the follower is blocked from removal.

Forget the 10/25 mags. Buy real 10-rounders from 44mag.com.

If you want an AR type loader that depresses the follower you can get the Christie's or Black Dog for around $10. The advantage is by depressing the follower instead of using the load assist buttons you can ignore worrying about the rounds getting staggered improperly because they always come out correct unlike with using the buttons.

You should try and find the real 10 round mags. They are much better when at the range on a table or rest becuse they don't interfere like the 25s or 10/25s do. They also allow you to use a lower bipod if needed.
