I posed the question in another thread. I was at the range this week (while the MA ban on "MA compliant" "AR-15 & Assault Rifles" was going out to ranges and gun stores) and did my own limited testing.
I'm not a marksman or experienced hand with sidearms; but I wanted to know how these rounds behaved out of my gun and my hand.
I compared both Hornady's 38spcl 90gr FTX Critical Defense and Liberty's Civil Defense 38 spcl 50 gr copper hollow point rounds to my SWC 158 gr range ammunition.
Using SA, at 20' I shot 3" 5 shot groups with all three of the rounds. Aim point was the bullseye.
The center of the group for the SWC rounds was @ 2" above the Aimpoint.
The center of the 90gr and the 50gr rounds were both @ 3" below the Aimpoint.
I concluded that I could shoot these lighter rounds in my gun for 10'-20' range with just a slight adjustment of where I hold on the front blade, or just aim a bit higher.
