Finally got to take my brand new M&P 9c to the range after having it for months. The is the model without the mag safety, but with the thumb safety. Sent it out for an Accurate Iron trigger job which Mike did very nicely. Overall I am very, very impressed with the little gun. I am a 1911 guy, but I was impressed with the accuracy of the little gun at all ranges. Site picture with the stock three dot sights was excellent. No malfunctions of any kind. I found it hard to do double taps, but that is not unusual for such a small gun. More practice is in order.

I was so pleased I think I will try to use as a pocket carry, and ordered a Kramer Holster for this purpose. Guys at the range think it is a little too large for even cargo pants pocket carry but I will try it and see.

Ordered up a bunch of Hordany Critical Defense as I found Natchez has it in stock. Been trying to find some for 6 months now. If Crimson Trace would only make a set of laser grips for the thumb safety model I think it would be perfect.

Guys at the range said to only clean it after a couple thousand rounds, as they all said the M&P's run better dirty. Took it apart after the first range session and it was not dirty at all except for a small amount of powder residue on the mag follower which I wiped off.

Overall, I am super pleased with the little pistol and would highly recommend it. I was very skeptical at first but I am very happy with its performance. It is an excellent buy.

Thanks. I've been seriously considering one of these and w/ the $50 (or 2 mag) rebate it's looking even better.

Clean it all you want, especially the barrel. Just don't put too much oil, or put oil in places you don't need it. Overlubing causes the problem, not the cleaning. RTFM.
