Had a nice 50-round shoot with the 1972-vintage 10-5 at 20 yards today. This was all double action using 148 grain Hornady HBWC over 3.1 grains of Winchester 231 and Winchester primers. You can see as the session went on, I started to show a three-o'clock error which is typical for me. The revolver shot consistently to aim and no malfunctions. Really, the gun shoots like new and easy clean up.

Nice shooting. The Model 10 is one of those rare commodity items which has become an artisanal piece. They are transcendent.

Nice holster too.
Thanks; I have always loved the classic Safariland thumb-break holsters from the 70's and 80's. I have another one for the Model 15-4

If you are gonna have just one Smith and Wesson revolver - it's gotta be a Model 10, or its pre-model version.

After trimming down the arsenal, I have just three handguns left, all Smiths.

Model 10-7 4 inch standard barrel
Model 640-1
Model 3913

Unless someone lays a big load of cash on me I don't anticipate ever buying another handgun.

I have a Model10-5 just like yours. Lots of holster wear but rarely fired. Smoothest action of any Smith I own.

Good shooting, double action at 20yds impressive.
I think M10s are a lot more accurate than some people think. My later D series is very accurate with my .38 wadcutter load. this is at 18yds, single action, offhand.
