Ranier Bullets

Does any one know any details about their demise, seems like it
closed around a year ago. The impression I got was it was getting impossible to deal with the state of Washington. I think the hope was they would move to a friendlier state or be bought out by someone. Appears neither happened, hoping something positive came out of it. Sure seems like the timing would be good.
Always thought they had a good product and several unique ones.

I never heard anything more either as to why they closed down but got the same impression you got.

I had just "found" them a year or so before & liked the majority of what they had.

Never had any problems with their bullets.

Once I heard they were on the way out I stocked up on as much as I could.

1). It was R-A-I-N-I-E-R Bullets. Went OOB in 2019 because of "the volitile uncertain future of the ammunition and reloading industry..."!

2). Web address was rainierballistics.com

3). Their 124gr 9mm Hollowpoint was a favorite for both 9mm & 357 SIG: still is!

4). Bought all the 130gr RNs I could find (W-B-W) for 38 Special & 9mm target loads at about $0.06 each, delivered, from Midway.

I’d swear I typed in Rainier, I even went and looked at a box. Wonder if spell check got me. I liked their 100 grn bullet for 32-20s. I tried to get some from Midway but I think they sold out of most everything pretty fast. If they had just made it one more year they’d be swamped just like everyone else.

Whenever "Go-To" names were mentioned for plated bullets, their name was right at the top. Too bad it did not survive.

Closed in March 2019, when sellers of ammo and reloading components were dealing with a saturated market. If they could survived a few more months, they would be swamped with orders like everyone else.

Sort of a pity, I've managed to push plated projectiles faster than coated. I also *really* don't like the small of the burning plastic. I guess it might be better for you than vaporized lead.

I used them many years ago, mostly in my 38 and 357 for target loads.

Switched over to other makers due to lower cost with the lead bullets.

I prefer plated in my 9mm but will buy coated for the 38 if they have a cannelure, that will work and the price is ok.

The Rainier 240 gr. PFP and PHP .44 bullets are still favorites of mine (until I run out).
Very accurate over 6.5 grains of Universal in the .44 Special using a taper crimp and a COAL of 1.475".
I was lucky enough to be able to stock up a fair amount before finding out about their eminent demise.
They were good folks to deal with directly.
Not an easy business to be in.
