A rant about service from a company! !
Late last summer I purchased a scale/dispenser system and chronograph from Pact Inc.! I used the system probably 3 times last year and this spring I drug it out to do some reloading. Plugged the scale in and tried to calibrate! Err1 comes up. Instructions say call Pact for assistance! A phone call gets me an electronic phone answering system that tells me to "push one" for assistance. I push one, the same message comes up, I push one, the same message comes up, on and on and on we go! I call again and push 2, a message comes up telling me to "go on line to find our phone hours"! I go on line only to find out their phone hours are from 2-5 PM on three days a week! It is now 6:30 at my house! The next day, during phone hours, I call only to get a woman I can hardly understand and she wants my email address to send me a link to he help I need! The link is a Utube video of how to factory cal. the scales. It takes a double jointed monkey with two left hands and three fingers to press the keys for a factory cal. It don't work! I call the factoy again, phone hours closed! The next day I try their "contact us" by email. I get a message back that is supposed to be a "chat room" but it takes hours for a return message. This all transpired over three days last week. This morning I get an email from someone at Pact the states, "Include a short note of your problem, your return shipping address, and a method of payment for $19.95 for the return s&h. The repair itself is covered by your warranty." Do I do this? A good friend and fellow shooter, who recommended the system after years of good use, needed to ship his scales back to the factory for repairs!
This was 9 weeks ago, he does not have a computer, and he is working during their phone hours. He has a day off so he calls and gets the non human voice but manages to find a real person only to find out his scales has been sent to their repair facility and they will contact him as soon as it is shipped back to them! Buyers regret with no recourse, that's me!
Don't buy anything from Pact Inc.
