Well.... yeah. Dates for engineering changes are fairly well known & documented.

As for an unfluted 686 I vaguely recall seeing a photo of something of the sort but I might be misremembering.

You need to buy it and share...

I'll bet it was part of a special run for a distributor. I would guess it's value in the $500/600. Are you thinking about buying it or selling it?
