re: Picked up a 3913 today - pictures

The 1998 guess was close S&W said it was June 5th, 1997. The cost was $400 FTF with a box of Speer HP and some target ammo tossed in. Box and all paper work included.

Got one just like it last week, a little cheaper but no ammo was included. ran a few rounds through and it did not miss a beat.

Congrats on a great firearm! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I use mine as my CCW and my 5906 as my range/steel match gun. Congrats again.

That is a very nice compact. I really like the XX13 pistols. I now have the 4513 and 4013 and would like to find a nice 3913 like yours next. The box and paperwork are a big plus to me. Congrats on a great pistol purchase.

Congratulations on acquiring a great little pistol. You might want to consider putting a set of Hogue grips on it. That really worked well for me. You should have a very reliable pistol. I've got over 7,000 rds through mine, mostly my 115g ball reloads, but a considerable cross-section of JHP as well, and I've had only one sorta jam. That occurred when one of my lead ball reloads hung on the feed ramp, but went in when I slapped the bottom of the magazine. Other than that, total reliability. Near as I can tell, the only significant advantage the Shield has over the 3913 is weight. True, it's a tad smaller, but not enough to make a difference.

Your going to love it! They live up tho their reputation of being totally reliable and they are accurate! Shoot it and enjoy it. Kyle
