Reacher series on Amazon Prime

I love Peacemaker! He loves peace so much he doesn’t care how many women or children he kills to get it!

That opening dance sequence is worth the price of HBO Max alone!
Re the opening dance sequence, looked it up on YouTube. It's, um..., different...

Did you catch the cameo by Lee Child in the last episode? Reacher is a hard character to catch on film. In the books a lot of his "conversations" are played in his head, can't really do that in the movies he has to talk more and that somewhat alters the character. Thought the series was pretty good.

I wish they had armed Readher with something less ridiculous and more practical than a Deagle.

I've mentioned other times. I
watched a behind the scenes
video a few years ago in which
an armorer is being consulted
by the movie producer.

The armorer suggested several
handguns but the producer was
drawn to the Desert Eagle. The
armorer said it was not really
practical for the hero to carry
one all the time.

But the producer insisted, saying
it would show up on screen much
more prominently than others.

Watched the 1st 4...good so far. Easier to watch this series than to read the book. Just too much description/dialog in the book

Probably the same producer who insists on mixing the audio so speech is hard to understand, and the music and explosions are more prominent.

I didn’t really think I’d be into it, but after reading all the positive reviews here, I watched it. I thought it was quite entertaining, though some performances were better than others. I agree Roscoe Conklin’s character and the actress that played her were really good. I also liked lead detective Oscar Finley. I need to read the books now to learn more about how Reacher thinks and acts through the authors eyes.

It is cool that people liked it, but while I think it started out well, the writing was very bad in the last half of the episodes. It just got dumber and dumber, with plot holes you can drive a bus through without scraping the paint. I found myself talking to the screen making fun of it like on Mystery Science Theater. The events leading up to and through the final warehouse fight were just absurd. Suspension of belief for entertainment is one thing, but there is a limit on how far that will carry a story.
