My wife and I went to the range today and this evening I was looking for a big bottle of Hoppes #9 I refill my small bottle I work with and ran across a strange powder box. Upon opening, I saw that some time in the past right before things got tough to find I had ordered a 4 lb jug of Longshot and a 8 lb jug of BE-86. :D So I should be sitting pretty good for loading just about any pistol cartridge I load for. I already had a good supply of H110 and 2400 for the real hotties.

I got to really liking the BE-86 since I tried it and I have liked Longshot now for around 10 years or so.

Just for kicks and giggles, I went back and found the invoice for this order, which was in March of 2020. The keg of BE-86 was $149.95, the Longshot was $83.49 and I had also ordered 3-1500 packs of Fiocchi small pistol primers, which were $39.95 for 1500. Dang, prices sure have gone up, if you can find the product in the first place.

I too have discovered BE-86 recently. I like how clean it is and how "Bullseye" like it is.

I like Longshot in 357 Sig! But my main use is 28-gauge Sporting Clays loads (1300+ fps) for skeet loads I use Unique.

I keep an 8-pound keg in reserve at all times.

I just loaded and shot 38 Special , 4.4-4.5 grains of BE-86 with a X- tream plated 158 grain RNFP bullet. 1.465 OAL It meters consistently . Very happy with the accuracy. I have never loaded BE- 86 before .
