I've replaced both front and rear sights on several pistols in the past, but I never had an issue like this.

I am trying to replace the rear factory dove tail sight on my full size CZ 75B. After removing the set screw I tried taping it out with my handy dandy punch set. No go! Then I tried my sight pusher. No go! This will not budge!!! At this point, I am ready to send my new rear sight back and call it quits.

I once saw a youtube video where a guy put a Springfield slide in a freezer over night to shrink the steel a bit. He claims it worked.

Does anyone have any tips\suggestions on how to get this rear sight out?

Thanks in advance

Universal sight pusher. Always worked for my other sight projects.

Let me guess. A pusher made from aluminum square tubing with a sliding bar to move the sight. These typically don't work well on very tight sights. They tend to place an upward vector on the sight rather than pushing directly thru the dovetail.

you would be correct. couldn't explained it better myself. First time I had this issue. anyway to loosen that bad boy up. thx

PS I'll probably try the freezer trick.

You can try the freezer trick, or dry ice, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. That works best if you have dissimilar metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion. You probably do not.

Use heat for Lock-tite. Use a heat gun, sometimes a hair dryer will work, and heat the slide from underneath. Then tap out the sight with a punch.
