Is anyone aware of a fiber optic adjustable rear sight for a 686-6 performance center. Eyes are old and fiber optics really help.

I had this picture saved as I was considering it myself. Company name is in the corner. I just reread your post. It didn't register with me that it was a PC model. I don't know if their sights mount differently.

If your 686-6 is the Competitor model it has an LPA rear sight already. LPA makes fiber optic rear sights but not sure if you can buy just the blade/tang as a replacement part. There are now several LPA distributors. I'd google LPA and contact one/some of their distributors. Worst case you have to replace the whole rear sight assembly.

Adios,

LPA can provide you with just the blade if one of the distributors ask them, but its more easier to just buy a new rear sight.

I'll say your going in the wrong direction.

I've worn glasses all my life and just recently had to go to bifocals. Remember the basics of sight alignment are to have the FRONT sight in sharp focus with both the rear sight and target blurry.

Adding high visibility add ons to the rear will only draw your eye to the rear, making it harder to have proper focus. 99% of shooting sports have found a high visibility FRONT, such as fiber optic, and plain black rear is more of an aid to shooting.

LPA offers the sights that you want. They will work on every Smith & Wesson revolver manufactured after the change to drilled & tapped frames in the mid 90s
