Reason for recent flurry of 2A decisions

Bruen was decided just over two years ago, in June 2022. This has given enough time for several important cases to percolate through the lower courts. Law clerks finish their clerkships approximately July 31, so late July early August is a time for many important decisions to issue.

Personally I am waiting for the Third Circuit decision in the case challenging the New Jersey anti carry laws passed in response to Bruen.

I suspect that in cases where the law firm of Clement & Murphy is representing a party or parties challenging the laws, that these plaintiffs are being backed by the NRA.

I strongly suspect that SCOTUS will in the next term do something substantial. They have already sort-of warned the 7th district that they were being stupid. It is obvious to anybody that a lot of jurisdictions (New York, New Jersey, CA and HI) have very conspicuously effectively told SCOTUS to stick it. Judges don't like that. They get offended when people try to do run arounds on them.

Now that there is no more stare decisis, reversals will be flying in both directions from now on, depending on who is on the Supreme Court deciding in which direction. Stability is out the window.
