I picked this off of a local fourm classifieds. Nice looking 19-4 with just a few character marks. Scored a nice set of stags for it also. It came with a good figured set of magnas, but I have recently found out that I like stags a lot. I have been advised it is a 1981 model. The model 19 snub has a "mean looking" profile and I have always liked them. Only changes I might make are a black grip adapter and removing the green paint from the front sight. Feel free to post your K frames with stags here. (y)

The Model 19 is my favorite handgun bar none. I learned to shoot a handgun withe a 19-3 4 inch at the age of 14 when my Dad, a police officer noticed that I was interested. I have always had a Model 19, which is going back a lot of years now. While I love the 19 the stag grips have no place on my revolvers. While they look good they are too slippery for target or defensive shooting. The original grips that come with the revolver are more than adequate for most shooting scenarios.

Nice gun and a really good deal. I would add the grip adaptor but leave the green on the front sight. I like the hi-viz green and have painted a few of my front sights. I was shopping with my elderly Mother at WalMart years ago and was surprised when she did not question why I wanted to pick up some green finger nail polish.

I have two 19-3 snubs, one in really good shape and the other well used but not abused. I like carrying the rougher one when I want to pack a serious “Roscoe”. My preferred grip for this kind of thing is the Pachmayr Professional Gripper.

I think you got a great buy on that 19-4 snubby. It looks to be in VG condition, and should be fun to shoot and/or carry. And I like the elk antler stocks, too! I've got her nickel sister from 1978 with the original stocks, and I paid quite a bit more for mine a few years ago. Enjoy!
