First impressions are good. They say they are 80-90% and I'd agree 80ish. Bore looks good, action is good and I have to say the trigger is better than when I purchased my new 9 FS. Probably because it's good and broken in. Night sights are out but that was disclosed. Probably will replace anyway. Test fire date 12-08. Just cleaned and lubed and may get by the range later today!

EDIT: NIGHT SIGHTS WORK. JUST CHECKED IN DARK CLOSET.

USED SMITH & WESSON M&P .40 NIGHT SIGHTS $369.00 SHIPS FREE

Wont it cost the same or more than a new one after replacing the sights?

Where in the world is Bud's getting all these rusty guns? That rear sight looks horrible.

It's not as bad as it looks and I just cleaned it up with a tooth pick. I see no other rust anywhere on the gun. Actually looks more like dirt to me.

gotta run, heading out to choot it up...!

That's good news. Some of those recent third gens from Bud's were really bad with rust.

Impressions after range session this afternoon

Got back a little while ago and am very pleased. This is my first 40 so was a little apprehensive... guess what, it didn't blow up, yeah!

But seriously, shot a box of 165 and 180 Win white box, and 50 range reloads.

0 Malfunctions and quite frankly am very pleased with the trigger (won't be putting a kit in this one). Another gun that shoots better than I do ;).

Now, here's my real dilemma, told my wife this was it for guns (been on a buying spree lately)... am I just kidding myself

PS-Range had speer 165 gold dot on sale and had one 40 mag on the shelf... must be karma :D

Why are there already police trade in M&P's? Did they switch the gun or the caliber? And why so soon?

No, you aren't kidding yourself...you know good and well this isn't it for guns.

You're just fibbing to your wife, that's all.

The pistols seem to be about six years old. That can be a long time for a duty gun...depending on usage and other conditions...especially for a plastic gun. Might be time to send in the replacements.

Marriage Rule #1 - Never make a promise to your wife that you either can't keep or have no intention of keeping. :-)

Congrats! Looks like a nice one! Enjoy!

Technically it wasn't a promise and.... she gave me that "yeah right, look right away..."

Outstanding!!! The "yeah, right" look is like a get out of jail free card!

Technically, it's not a lie if she doesn't believe it, right?...right?

Man. NYPD gets their guns and carries them their whole career. Never get replaced unless it is destroyed somehow. There are plenty of guys carrying their semi auto for over 20 years now

Quick Update

Got about 300-400 rounds through my 40 and man oh man am I enjoying this gun! Flawless...

I hate to say it cause I love my 9 so much but it took over for bedside duty last night!!! Never in a billion years would I have thought I'd like the 40 this much...

Cleaned it up, bought a few more mags and added a stippled back strap, yep... she's a keeper ;)

Don't know if there were any associated trigger changes or it's just sweet from all the shooting, but it is indeed sweet..
