There's a 3" 64 in some of the last scenes in "The Dark Knight" being wielded by The Joker, who then gives it to Harvey Dent.

If you Google "Guns in movies" there's a whole site dedicated to basically every movie that exists that has a weapon in it, from ZPU 14.5mm cannons to .22 derringers
I have used it countless times to find out just what the heck I just saw in a movie......
In "The Crazies" this site says Timothy Olyphant digs out his Dad's old duty gun, which is a 4" M28, and they also notice he loads it with .38 Specials. They don't miss nothin' on that site!
They even see that the cops in Beverly Hills Cop carry Dan Wesson M15's. Even some obscure movies, they will be like "Security Guard at 1:03:10 in Hard Rain has a S&W 64 in his holster"

Yes, it is a 3.5" 27! My bad, I thought the site said 28, probably because I just got a 4" 28 right before I saw the Crazies
The site did catch that it was loaded with Federal .38's!

In the road warrior there was a S&W 44 mag used by the humungus.
Also, I believe those SF cop movies that Eastwood was in featured a S&W, a model 25 or something? They were good movies. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? The name escapes me.....
