Hi all don't know if this is the right place to post this but here we go.
I read somewhere awhile ago back in the 70's I think, about rechambering the same round in a auto loader is not a good idea as it could cause the bullet to seat deeper and cause high pressure. Any ideas to this being fact or fiction. I do know since then and this has been years 40+ that I take the chambered round and put in the bottom of the mag when I clean my firearm just in case.

It's possible if the crimp doesn't hold the slug. Winchester Silver Tip in 45 acp is one of the worst to do this that I've seen.

Yes, it happens. Has a lot to do with the gun and the brass and the crimp, but it does happen.

Rotating the ammo in your mag and shooting it away every so often is good insurance you don't have an issue....

I recall reading something on it, I think Sip posted it in the Lounge something to do with LEOs who I guess do it a lot and there was a problem with the round going off??

I rechamber them but not very often, whenever I clean my carry gun which is not often except for dust.:D

This is a real issue. There was a very recent thread about this:

I only carry factory ammo and all of it has a cannelure crimp mark, I have yet to see one move. I carry a 380, 9mm and 40 SW at different times. Not saying it doesn't as by all the talk it surely does.
