Recoil. Ignore it. No accomplished shooter is thinking about recoil.
I'm not sure what the definition is of an "accomplished shooter"?
However, my group of range buddies meet about once a month. I would consider most are at an expert level of experienced gun owners, retired military and currently in high security occupations. Most conceal carry. Other than a self-defense situation when recoil would not be a thought, the words "recoil" and "accuracy" and "feels good" are spoken nearly every single time we share our firearms and shoot a mag or 6 rounds at the range.
I've shot over 30 different handguns over the past 4 years. When I pick up my friends 50 cal Desert Eagle, the first thought is RECOIL. After the first round, the next thought is RECOIL.
When I shoot my favorite fun-gun, Kel-Tec P17, my thought is "Wow, nice!" No RECOIL.
Since I cannot ignore recoil, I am not an "accomplished shooter".
