I have one and been using it for some time. Is it a huge difference in a 9mm? I don't think so. If you were running a .40 or 357 Sig, you would notice it more IMHO.

It is not really a recoil reducer, more a "recoil spreader." Some like the feel, I don't. I want the gun to recoil smoothly and get back on target quickly. Save your money unless you have a particular problem you are having to solve.
The only way to actually reduce recoil is to add weight to the gun or shoot ammo that produces less recoil impulse. Physics 101.

I have a Harrts Recoil Reducing Rod in one of my 1911’s. They seem to work on the same principle. The first cartridge fired gets no reduction. But then the second has some kind of rebound effect from the spring and weight that is supposed to reduce muzzle rise. In my 1911 is so minimal that I forget I have it. I feel the same about tungsten guide rods. So I can’t say if they do or don’t work in a M&P but I would be highly suspect if you can really feel the difference. You aren’t adding a significant amount of weight so I just don’t know. They seem very gadget-ey to me now that I suckered into one.
